Ann-Kat, look what I've got...

*huge grin*

Well, technically, it's not mine. I bought it as a Christmas gift for my son so that I would get to read it too. LOL

Ann-Kat of Today, I Read wrote a detailed review on this book and I knew my son (and I) would enjoy the stories.

My son finished the book last night and his first words upon closing the book were these:

"Nice stories, which are somewhat like nursery tales, that leave the reader wanting more. The book is a bit pricey considering how short the stories are."

If you're in two minds about reading this book, take a look at Ann-Kat's review and see if it helps you make up your mind. *wink*

Thanks for the love Jace and congratulations on the recent addition to your (er...your son's) library.

You have a very astute son. :D We had the same thoughts after finishing, though he declared it far more succinctly than I. (I tried to be fair about the pricey part because I knew the money was going to charity; I did do the math though and for the price I paid, each story was about $1.43USD. Had I paid full retail price, I might have felt a little burn. LOL)

On a completely different note, I read over at Brie's blog that you're thinking about closing Jace Scribbles. While I'd respect your decision, I would like to mention that you'd be very missed if you did close up. :)

Whoa! You're thinking of closing JaceSribbles? NOOOOOOOOO, please no!
Daughter read this book, from the library and enjoyed it. Since I didn't have to pay for it, I'm good with it. *G*

Ann-Kat: I asked my son to read your review (after he finished the book) and he agreed with everything you said, especially on the "moral values in a twisted way". :-D I think I don't mind the price because my son enjoyed the stories and the book's a great addition to his stash of hardcover collection. :-)

As for the closing of this blog, yes, I'm mulling over it. It's not an easy decision to make as I've had it for a-year-and-a-half now and there's a great deal of attachment. Thanks for saying I'd be very missed - that's an honour indeed. :-)

Brandy: If I continued blogging, it'd be because of people like you, Ann-Kat, Brie and others who dropped by everyday and are still interested in what I have to say. :-) Thanks.

It's nice to see I'm not the only one who buys books for my kids so that I can read them! LOL

... and what is this talk of you closing your blog?!? :(
I would miss you terribly as well! Would you still keep the craft blog? ... :(

Christine, isn't it nice to read the same books that our kids enjoy too? :-) My son and I are Potterheads, and we've had many interesting discussions over the 6 Harry Potter books. 6 because I haven't read Deathly Hallows yet!!! LOL

Yes, I'll keep the craft blog if I do decide to close this one. I haven't reached a decision yet and I'm giving myself time to think about it. Hey, I'll still visit you regularly, you know, so you'll see me around. :-)
