There was a time when I would never read every single book in a romance series. The reason was simple … I didn’t like reading about recurring characters who would say pretty much the same things in the same old way. And I didn’t like the idea of slavishly waiting for the next book (and the next) to come out. Heaven forbid that I should get hooked on a series that shows no sign of ending any time soon!
But alas, I was weak, the lure was strong, and resistance was futile.
I believe it all started with this ...
The Wallflower Quartet
... and very quickly, and may I add, insidiously, moved on to these:
The Black Dagger Brotherhood
The Immortals After Dark
The Drakons
The Midnight Breed
and its sequel, Hidden
and its sequel, Shades Of Dark
... plus I have all the books of these series in the TBR ...

I may have succumbed, but I shall not admit defeat! Even as I tell you this, dear reader, I am plotting ...

Oh yes, it is so easy to get sucked in. Even if I don't love a series but just kind of want to know what happens to the characters, I'll keep reading. Which is just what authors and publishers want. :)
Jennie, it's an addiction, I tell you! And I don't like it. :) Yes, I'm definitely plotting ...
LOL - It's so easy to get hooked isn't it? With the exception of the Laura Adrian series - and there I'm weakening more every day - I have succumbed to all the series you listed.
Hi Jace, I have Singh's series on my list too. I will be interested on your thoughts when you start to read this series.
By-the-way, I like your Avitar picture. It's so cute!
Kristie, it was those pesky paranormals that really started this trend, wasn't it? The trend of neverending series. :D I don't recall any mainstream contemporaries or historicals that go on and on and on...
Jill, I mean to read the Singh series someday, and when I do, I'll read them back-to-back. So yeah ... you'll get an avalanche of my thoughts when that happens. :D
As for the avatar, thanks! I had lots of fun trying to make it look like me. LOL Obviously I'm not perfect like it, but the hair's quite close, and the dressing reflects my own preference. :)
Eek. I became hooked on JR Ward first, then came Nalini Singh and Colleen Gleason and... It never ends. I do feel your pain.
Oooooh! I'm right there with you on The Black Dagger, Immortals After Dark and Drakons! I keep checking Amazon to see if they're available yet (like they decided to surprise everyone and change the release dates!).
I'm feigning out right now thinking about them!
Brie, I know you're a paranormal fan, and paranormal is where I think the trouble is. Do you agree? ;)
And as you know, I'm not exactly a paranormal fan, so this addiction thingy is all the more confounding in my case. Back to plotting ...
Bianca!!! Big WELCOME! :D
You aren't the only one checking out the release dates! I do too (not proud to admit it), only ... you do it at Amazon and I do it at my favourite bookstore. LOL Example: we all know that Midnight Rising isn't out until March 20-ish, so it won't arrive at my corner of the world until mid-April ... and yet, I was checking out the shelves like a desperado two weeks ago. Pathetic or what, I ask you? *rolls eyes*
